Theatre: "Picasso's Artful Occupation"

11 March 2014 to 30 March 2014

Picasso's self-portrait

The story in Picasso's Artful Occupation occurs in 1940, when the German army gains control of France. All valuables in Paris banks are to be inventoried, and Spanish painter Picasso hurries to have his works listed. How does one of the world's most famous artist cope with a predatory German army, greedy for booty?

The play, written by Ian Buckley, will make spectators think about what's the role of art in a context of war and an occupied territory.
